The American Heart Association and American Stroke Association want to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20% while reducing deaths from cardiovascular disease and stroke by 20% by the year 2020. That means saving 863 lives each day! We’ll share information and life-saving messages throughout the next year to help reach these goals.
Eighty percent of risk factors for cardiovascular diseases are preventable by making healthy choices like eating right, exercising and not smoking. We’ll help!
Here’s our message for the month of April:
The American Heart Association’s “Healthy for Good” movement wants to encourage you to move more to improve your heart and overall health. Staying active is one of the most important things a person can do to help curb obesity, lower your chances of heart disease and live healthy. Aim for at least 150 minutes of physical activity pet week, but if you don’t want to sweat the numbers, just move more!
