Chris Jensen is back at KMRY after a 22 year absence.
Chris, then known as “Chris Gallagher” was the Saturday News Announcer from 1994-1997. After leaving KMRY in 1997, she worked for her family’s material handling company for 11 years and as a realtor.
Radio was in her blood and in 2018 she returned to the station that gave her a break as a paid intern while she was in college. After spending six months in the sales department, Chris once again found herself behind the mic. She now brings local news to the afternoon show and hosts a number of special programs, including a "Mixed Tape" segment of Memory Music Our Way on Sunday nights. She also co-hosts Josh Christensen's Real Sports Hour and does color commentary and play by play for our sports broadcasts.
Chris is an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, and a huge lover of animals. She lives in Cedar Rapids with her husband, Justin, a Cedar Rapids Firefighter, and Eli the cat. She recently lost her beloved dog, Zeus.
When she isn’t cheering on the Cubs or working at the radio station, she enjoys traveling and starting 25 projects that she will likely never finish!
